Through the first half of 2026 they have been booking appointments, triaging support tickets, reconciling invoices and moving data between systems without a human touching each step. Gartner now warns that applying one uniform governance model across all agents is itself a failure mode: it over-restricts simple agents and under-restricts autonomous ones.
